| Brokers Health Recognizes Disability Income Insurance Awareness Month
Do you know what you would do if you were unable to work for an extended period of time due to an injury or illness?
A recent survey shows that 70% of working Americans say they could only afford to take one month or less of unpaid vacation before everyday expenses would force them to return to work.
What if, because of health reasons, you needed to take more than one month off of work? Who will pay bills, mortgage payments, and everyday expenses?
This month Brokers Health Insurance, along with the entire insurance industry is coming together to close the gap between those who need disability income insurance, and those who are already covered. The LIFE Foundation is coordinating this first-ever, industry-wide campaign and dozens of insurance companies and other industry groups are expected to participate with awareness-building and marketing efforts of their own.
But companies and associations can only do so much. People need help assessing their needs and understanding their options. That's where insurance professionals like you come in. You can make an important contribution to Disability Insurance Awareness Month by dedicating May to helping people in your community with their disability insurance needs and motivating them to take action. |
