American Community Field Bulletins 
American Community has been busy updating agents and brokers - In case you missed some important ones:
- Interest on Advance Commissions REVISED
- States: All
- Effective: July 1, 2008
- American Community will start charging interest on advances effective July 1. Due to agents feedback we will charge interest on advance balances for NEW BUSINESS ONLY with application signature dates of July 1, 2008 or later.
Individual Renewal Rate Changes
- States: Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Indiana
- Effective Dates Beginning July 1, 2008
- For Individual health insurance products, policy holders will receive a renewal increase in premium, plus an age increase on or after the effective date above.
Fund Administration Update
- States: ALL
- Effective Date August 1, 2008
- American Chartered Bank with no fees for HSAs HealthEquity Administration with low fees and online claims for HSAs and HRAs. American Community is making some changes to the fund administration they offer with all of our group and individual health products that include a health savings account (HSA) or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). Starting this August AC will offer basic fund administration through American Chartered Band, with no monthly fees to American Community HSA customers. Beginning the effective date above, you will have 3 choices for HSA fund administration:
- American Chartered Bank - basic account administration with no fees
- HealthEquity - enhanced fund administration with a monthly fee of $3.95
- Another financial institution of your choice
If you choose not to make a change from HealthEquity you do not need to do anything and your account will remain with HealthEquity. Your fund administration choice does not affect your health insurance premium. Please continue to use your current AC medical ID card.

Golden Rule Announces UnitedHealthcare network offering and transition from Cofinity network in Michigan
Many of our agents received notification that effective June 30, 2008, Golden Rule Insurance Company will no longer offer the Cofinity network for new individual policies sold in certain zip codes in Michigan. Please keep in mind:
- The Cofinity medical network is a true statewide provider network.
- The Cofinity network consistently produces better than average savings.
- The Cofinity membership volumes and marketplace longevity matter.
- The Cofinity network continues to grow.
